I am getting so tired of all the ridiculous stuff that is being pandered by politicians and, to some degree, the media.
We have many that still blame Bush for the economy. We have the republicans who blame Obama.
How about if everyone blames Congress. They prove regularly that they are not really interested in getting folks back to work. The house will pass a bill and then the Senate will refuse to vote on it. The Senate will introduce a bill which will get shot down in many cases before it can be voted and sent to the House who would then in most cases instantly vote it down.
Are any of the republicans out there embarrassed by the fact the that the Republicans in the House are so incredibly far away from the Republicans in the Senate when it comes to agreeing on something?
I will agree that there may be some fundamental things that perhaps you do not want to compromise on but people are living in abject poverty and losing ground daily. Please do not come to me and say that they do not deserve to make more money or have a job.
There are certainly those that are not willing to really work for something but that is not in any way the majority of people.
The majority of our current economic problems is Congress. I don’t care what party you are but despite what has been said by some candidates and despite the Supreme Court decision in Citizens United Corporations are NOT people. I would not want to do away with corporations because they employ a very large number of people and they absolutely deserve to make money.
There are those that will come out and say “but if we pay more then unemployment will go up”. Horse Hockey! The states that have implemented higher minimum wages than the federal mandate show no such unemployment hike.
To the stockholders out there. I hope you all become very wealthy. That being said, the returns you guys are looking for are % rates that not very many years ago are rates that were charged by people who would break your legs or kill you if you didn’t pay in time. Do you enjoy being associated with organized crime? That is the kind of rate you are looking for.
To those who have become wealthy, I hope you remain so But what are you going to do when the middle class is gone you rich guys are all just passing money around between you? That sounds like much fun. I would much rather earn a rate of 5% to 9% on something that will remain stable for many years to come. I realize you may not be able to afford that 15,000 square foot vacation home but really, is that absolutely needed?
