Five years after the financial crash and everyone except the companies that are getting money from the fed is still pretty much in the toilet.
Politics did not directly cause the crash but they did indirectly cause it by screwing with regulation without thinking about the consequences of the changes they made.
We should be much farther along than we are now but the congress which is just refusing to come together and do anything at all that will help anyone is what is holding us back. Politics is certainly causing that.
Politics has also caused what is essentially the destruction of the American Dream that people were striving to arrive at for decades but it is very unlikely to happen now.
Congress has made some changes that will make it even harder to realize the dream. It will be pretty tough to be able to work hard enough to achieve the dream when you don’t make enough to even feed your family properly. And of course, since Congress just removed a massive amount of funding from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) it will get even worse because nowhere have I seen any valid reason for the amount of money they removed. It looks to me like some just pulled a number out of their ass and used that.
